Looks like the coug is interested. Using his typical cut and past question:

Quote:
I ask if I may bid as I live in UK, could pay with pay pal. Both on this & maybe other items too? Obviously I would pay shipping charges,(new international priority/air lift surface M bag/ cheapest preferred) Thanks for your time either way, no offence taken or intended Please “reply” to this so I know which auction were on about, thanks Failing that I have a USA based address you can send items, MEDIA MAIL to that will be forwarded to me, would that be better/ok? Please pay no attention to individuals who e-mail you lying about me, my reputation or the US PS M bags, instead please report them straight away by forwarding the e-mail to Ebay via customer support. Also please check my feedback & theirs, I think you’ll soon discover who is the more reputable? Finally please add me to your buyer exempt list, its under site map, centre column, else I may be held up bidding too late to sort it out/ re request this? thanks

Still boggles the mind trying to read it

I've always wondered whether his "Pay no attention to those other people!" does him more harm than good.

I know that if I got it I'd immediately be going "Wait... What other people?  And what exactly are they saying?"

Exactly.  It's an instinctive reaction that's probably common to most humans.  However, the coug:  i) is most likely inhuman (more like a shambling mound of M-bags, or gelatinous cube of postal tape glue); and, ii) has such an enormous ego he assumes everyone else will agree with his perspectives.

Speaking of Al....where has that guy been?  He hasn't even signed onto the forum in a month.

Harami's sentence structure is worse but Cougs spelling is downright pathetic.  The guy misspells words that a four year old knows how to spell.  Quit typing so damn fast and use a spellchecker Dave.  Razz

That's odd.  I have always found Harami2000's vocabulary and sentence structure to be quite elegant and a clear indication of higher education!  (Mind you, he hasn't posted since January 2006.  Maybe you're thinking of someone else. Wink )

Two mistakes in a single humble statement!  The first being, of course, that the coug is not writing in English.

Firstly it annoys me why peeps only sell to the US and not the UK. You would hope, especially buying and selling D & D, we could trust each other.  Unfortunately, to a degree, the coug does have a point.  However having experience of trying to buy from sellers that list as selling to US only I can see why he has this standard template.  Secondly, as a UK buyer I know that shipping is expensive.  I have asked sellers for a lot of books, 'How much shipping to the UK?'  They say,'Its very expensive and I doubt you could afford it.  I think its too expensive to ship to you so I won't.'  This is really annoying.  I know its expensive however do you think I would be asking if I thought it would be $50 to ship 100kg of books from the US to the UK?  Again I think Rinard needs to improve the quality of his stock but it is suitable for a certain market which is way different than the Acaeum.

Personally I don't have a problem with him.  He sells a lot of stuff that is sub-standard for this website however for a lot of peeps it is cheap and useable.  We, people on the Acaeum, are after a higher quality of item.  It is easy to knock those that don't mind stuff that has had a 'well-used' life.  We don't want to be the people that he bitches about.  Yes, ask questions of sellers but don't hound them if they aren't as meticulous, read anal, as us.

I think sometimes we need to promote this website as positive....sometimes it comes across as not being.  Please have more pictures of the good things that people have found and seen.  More stories and any other D & D fun things.  This website is good but it could be great. PDT_Armataz_01_37

And I will now go and hide in the murky depths of Undermountain.  Only let rip if you can find me. tongue

I think most here don't bitch about Cougie's item condition, it's just that we feel he's animal excrement in human form.

Per the seller:

Quote:
The books are in great condition. There is barely any staple rust or corrosion and none of the pages are loose. There is a small fraying split at the bottom corner of the 2nd book which is visible in the pictures above. The errata sheet consists of one page with corrections for the book. There is a reference sheet booklet, which consists of 4 fold pages, with various tables and other quick reference material from the books. There is no writing on any of the pages inside the booklet, but there are signatures on the upper inside cover of each booklet, from possibly the original owner. The pages don't have any odor, molds, etc. The books are marked with third printing on the inside of each cover, which makes it one of the first few thousand with Hand Made boxes. I expect that just means putting the label on the front, and putting the books in the box. There is shelf wear on the edge corners of the box, but the box is still very firm and strong with no evidence of crushing.

It is indeed curious.  Maybe his infected toes got the better of him.  Maybe he read one too many Coug communications and just couldn't take it anymore.  If he doesn't watch out, Badmike is going to catch up to his number of posts on this web-site.  Hmmmm.  Strange indeed! Confused
