My loss, Al (and a huge one at that). I was really disappointed to miss it, but Frank said he would explain. All's not well, I"m afraid. As John Lennon said, life's what happens while you're busy making other plans. |

No, I believe that is the 1979 2nd edition box set. The 1984 box looks like:
I gather the '84 set is more rare than the '79 set, and just slightly less rare than the original pamphlet version (any print.) But, I don't claim to know for certain... just what I've discovered in trying to hunt for it (strangely, I found 1st print, 1st edition BH before the '84 box set.) |

This looks like an instance where the box cover art improved in a later edition. Though with my D&D stuff part of what makes the early art so appealing to me is partly nostalgia. |

I would guess the rarest Boot Hill item is the 2nd Edition set. Its the only one I still need. I have also seen a lot more 1st and 2nd print pamphlets than these boxes. |

Dragon Mag.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300251263750
Anyone asked/checked on this? June '76 is #1, whereas Vol 1 #10 is Oct '77.
Without a pic there is no way of telling which and his description could be either. Also, without a pic - who knows what "50%" means (i.e., are we talking a tear across the cover which goes half way, or is half the cover missing ).
There is a chance that whoever is bidding could be on their way to a cheap Dragon #1 with a tear on the cover... or not. |

No picture, bad description, 15 hours left. This does not inspire confidence. |

It's a Dragon #1, I asked the guy. The tear is apparantly pretty bad.

That bores me, I see those all the time. I'd much rather see a cheap Core Rules 1.0. |

Hell, the Core Rules itself is boring. I'd rather see a Dragon Archive. |

I'm more interested in the White Dwarf archive (since I don't have it). I just wish they'd done a Dungeon mag archive at the same time (before all the copyright hell was unleashed). |
