actually, putting 2 and 2 together, I would bet money thats its Southsea Models, as currently mentioned in the Random Thoughts or OT Chit-Chat Thread
Southsea is very close to Portsmouth.
Cheers,

Reckon Malcolm has pinned it down - As the first name of the Southsea Models guy is Marshall, it seems like a good bet. |

This quote from WD 82 (as stated in the auction)
| Quote: | | And if you are going to Games Day, you'll have a chance to pick up a copy of ST1 Up the Garden Path, that I mentioned in passing last issue. This is a shortish(16 pages - but what a lot of words!)D&D/AD&D adventure that comes at a bargain price of £2.50. Its also one for completists, as TSR UK have made it a very limited edition. ST1 is an (admittedly excellent) adventure so wildly improbable and strange that all I am going to say about it is that the characters arrive in a pocket-oniverse aboard a salamander-powered steam train run by a bunch of gnomes... You can find the rest out for yourselves, but this stuff is the antidote for all that usually serious stuff from TSR UK |
(WD 81 says this)
| Quote: | | If you can get hold of a copy, TSR Uk's other major, no really, it is - contribution to gaming in 1986 is ST1 'Up the Garden Path', a fairly strange little adventure based in and around Stoke Garden Festival |
If this very limited release was telegraphed so early you would have thought that they would all have been sold on the day. Anecdotal (ie I read it somewhere I can't remember!) evidence says that this was not the case. I wonder just how many of these there are floating around?
(Anyone know if TSR UK were allowing people to buy multiple copies, or was it 1 per customer?) |

Never seen one of these before. |
"Insurance is recommended, as this item may burst into flame during shipment. "
Is this a threat??? I like how it's vague about WHEN it may burst into flame. I'm considering calling the FBI...

Did OCE's come shrinkwrapped? I would assume so and the yellowing under the torn spot is comforting, but would the original wrap hold up this well this long? Definately, interesting listing in my book!

I sold one on eBay personally not quite a year ago, and the final value was in the $450 range if memory serves. It also had no rips in the shrink and was as close to mint as I think a set would come. Him asking $599 is a pipe dream IMHO, especially with a tear in the shrink, but, I suppose we can see what shakes loose. Personally I don't think it will sell.
