Steven's right, it did go for $2800 (checked my email from March 31), but I couldn't follow the old link to the original auction.
Zen, if you didn't open the books, you might not have noticed loose pages. I'm not questioning your honesty, just your judgment ( ). Maybe you overlooked it, or maybe hiero put different books in your box. I hope we can figure it out. |
I just didn't want it to seem like I shortchanged the guy with a shoddy description, lacking the info that pages were falling out. I absolutely opened the booklets and looked at them, but not in a read every page turn with my thumb sort of way, like you'd read any other book not worth scads of money. I always try to be a bit of a grading snob with my auctions, and my own collection, and let me tell you guys, selling that set was HARD. I do not think I'll have another pass through my hands that was in the condition that one was in.
But you're right Mars, anything can happen to something when it's not in your hands the entire time. I'm not trying to say he did anything to it, I just was kinda sticking up for myself and my auctioning habits. Not trying to ruffle any feathers, honest. Hell, maybe I got rid of it at the right time, right before the pages started falling out of it??

No worries, Zen. Is it reasonable to assume, then, that you're preserving your reputation because you've got more sweet auctions on the horizon? |

US only, probably on account of the seller being either ignorant, a biggot, or both. |

It is a shame, he has some other interesting items up also such as Royal Armies of the Hyborean Age, JG Inferno, some Greyhawk items, etc. |

He is playing straight into the classic steriotype of the US citizen. If it were deliberate biggotry or ignorance it would be acceptable to a certain degree. But I suspect the majority of these cases are of people who genuinely cannot understand that there is an sophisticated form of life beyond what is governed by congress. |

Sorry, Ian, I'm afraid I don't even know what the classic stereotype of a US citizen is, let alone the classic "steriotype". I can't see any evidence of bigotry, or even of "biggotry" for that matter, in the listing. If there were indeed a sophisticated form of life beyond what is governed by (presumably) the US Congress, I suspect the first sign of it would be the ability to spell correctly in one's own language.
It's a man's game, bitch!
Deal with it. |

He said 2 days before that he will ship to France, so I don't think it will be a problem for him to ship to UK (but perhaps he doesn't like UK folks héhé)
Even me, a french man, accept to deal with UK persons |

It's a lovely condition set and all that, but I can't help but feel a little saddened by it. It's not right that a game never gets played, or seemingly even thumbed through. I feel it would be better if there were blu-tac marks on the maps and dried bacon rashers as book marks |
