A quick rant.....I've just asked a US seller to quote me on 20 or so books to the UK. Their reply was...shipping is too expensive!!!! Why not tell me how much it is and let me decide. I know its damn expensive. I reply back I know its expensive and tell them I was expecting it to be about $100. The reply I get is...It won't be worth it for you. AAARRRGGGHH! They are talking themselves out of a good qualified bidder. So frustrating Rant over and thanks for reading. Goodnight. |

I tell overseas bidders that as well and give them an amount. I would not refuse an overseas bidder once he knows the cost. |

Send a message back and tell them "money isn't an issue, you can afford the cost". Just to see if you can get a price out of them. |

Far out. Today, the Category 'Role Playing Games' on Ebay Australia has only 77 listings. It is usually in the 200 to 300 range. Compare this to the US where there are 7,735 listings today. I wonder if the economic downturn has anything to do with it. |

Anyone catch the last race of the F1 season from Brazil? What a race! Talk about a dramatic ending. Lewis Hamilton almost lost the championship to Massa but got it with a couple of corners to go. Both teams were celebrating thinking they won immediately after the race - then Ferrari got the heartbreak.
Probably good for the sport that a Brit won the title though. |

Well, I was quite happy about it
Particularly after he lost the Championship last year.
Quite a nail biter that last race!
Cheers,

Watching sky news it seems that Obama is the man.
What does this mean to our American friends? (And indeed to the world at large) |

Who says Formula 1 is dull, especially after the last two season finales?
(head shaking back and forth in disbelief)
The looks on the Ferrari team before AND after they found out Hamilton won the world championship . . . priceless.
Even the U.S. announcers on Speed Channel turned into fans the last few laps--with no dog in the fight, it was just as if they were in the stands at Interlagos!
Now if we only could get F1 back in the U.S., especially with no French GP. British GP moved to Donington Park, and no Canadian GP (?). |

I don't know if anyone above said it was dull, but people with that opinion exist. Me for instance. I find any car racing, including F1, about as exciting as having mosquitoes buzz your ears while you are trying to sleep. |

All car racing is pretty much a snooze fest....unless you are talking about a bunch of drunk rednecks driving beat up 70's or 80's souped up junkers around a dirt track with no protective gear other than an old helmet and some coveralls. In those types of races, the opponents are encouraged to smash into each other.
Yeehaww!....2500 posts. |

I believe the voter turnout was approximately 65%, which was the largest percentage turnout since 1908.
It's about goddamn time... |

So Lorraine was Gary's first wife, and Gail was his second? |

No, Mary was his first wife. Lorraine was the person who stole TSR from him. |

Have you seen L?!
Can you honestly imagine anyone wanting to jump into the sack with her?
L's daddy bought his daugher a little company to play with, but like most spoilt kids, they got the wrong present. She hated geeky gamers because they wouldn't date her in high school, and being obese, she considered it an affront that her last bastion of dignity for getting a date wouldn't consider her worthy of their time. So she carried an almighty chip on her shoulder from years of being spurned by guys and made no secret of the fact that she hated the customer base of the company daddy bought her.
So she ran it into the ground, but not before drawing a decent amount of money from it. Enough to keep her in icecream for decades to come. |

So upseting the rubbish that TSR published towards the end. Tatt and shameless remakes of classics....Rogues Gallery and Dungeon Masters Design Kit spring to mind. TSR were a booming company. It shows what bad leadership can achieve. |
