The Houston game between the Ravens and the Texans has been cancelled due to damage to Reliant Stadium.

How are player scores determined for cancelled games?

The answer is they ARE NOT going to count...because there will be no stats for Week Two from these two teams.

Better get any Texans or Ravens out of your lineups if you have them...they may not stat for this week.  If they don't play by Monday night, their stats won't count as Week Two stats.

When Katrina destroyed the Superdome, the Saints played home games at LSU stadium. Maybe the Texans/Ravens could mix it up at UT Austin's stadium?   San Antonio seems another venue to look at. From their schedules (they have different off weeks this year) it appears  it will be impossible to make up the game unless they do it in the next three days.

Supposedly the NFL is going to make an announcement tonight as to the disposition of the game.

The official word is the game has been rescheduled for November 9th.  This week is treated as a Bye week for both the Ravens and Texans....treat your lineups accordingly!!!!

Wow, the Ladies have two players starting from those teams.  Time to do some thinking....

Thanks for the heads up, Mike.  And good to see you apparently came through the storm intact.  Hope your family is all high and dry.

No problems here.  Unfortunately my son and daughter are in Houston with no electricity, no water, and now no jobs (until the electricity gets turned on) and no school (damaged and flooded) for the immediate future.  Oh and no gas to drive up here (we told them to come up before the storm, but no, kids always know best..... Rolling Eyes ) But it could be much worse.

Big Monday night game coming up.... Cowboys and Eagles. Has all the makings of a classic.

How many people are hanging on a good result from particular players to get a win in fantasy? Myself, after Moss did nothing yesterday I need a high scoring shootout, with TO and McNabb both getting some TDs.

Final score prediction... 49-45 Cowboys.

You got your shootout!!! Second highest halftime score in MNF history.  Wow!

Hell, what about the Luddite League game between the Pugulgies and the Tegel Shrews?  Highest scoring game of the week, The Shrews are down a bunch with Witten and Desean Jackson going. If Jack-Ass doesn't DROP the ball strolling into the endzone on a sure TD, the Shrews would have it.  I hope Andy Reid takes the time during halftime to tattoo his shoe on DeSean's ass.  But we go into halftime the Shrews needing five pts to win.   Man why do I feel the hand of doom patting the Shrews on their hairy head???  Shocked

Regardless great game Paul!  Probably come down to the last minute and a Witten TD!!!

Mike,

Damn close battle.  I hope Andy Reid kicks Jackson so hard he goes home and Witten drives him Smile  $5.00 says you win on catches and yards alone, never mind the TD's!  Though that would be more fitting. If I lose, make it spectacular!

Great game whatever happens Mike, but I had you pegged to win Sunday night after LT's no-show.

Damn, now you've made me nervous!  To watch or not... Wink

My, what fun...

Thanks to all for having me...

This is my first fantasy FB foray... and I may be muddling my way a bit, but it's a blast!

(there must be Acaeum hockey-pools for us Canucks, too?)

Good luck all,
David

While I know full well, that this is only week three of a long season.
I am very glad that I did not keep any of the players from my last years roster in the Luddites league.

LJ,

Thanks.  Not that it matters because NE was crushed!  And to think I changed it at the last minute from Buffalo.  Looks like everyone squeaked through but me Smile

BTW, I picked the Lugs over you because your voodoo is just too strong Wink

I can't believe Buffalo only won by one point!  Thought I was dead for sure.  And you voted against me because my running backs @#$&%!!! (I was going to use a colorful slang term there, but remembered that I'm a lady just in the nick.)   flower

And Romo still is pretty cute, but is not helping my bottom line much here at the half.  Those Shrews have beat me to a pulp.  Good game, Mike.  Looking forward to the rematch at Week 12.

Lucy,

You're always a lady: a sneaky, voodooish, painful lady with a fondness for iguanas, but a lady nonetheless. Wink

I have no doubt you will hand me my hat and feed it to me when we meet.

Buffalo, and the Giants, were so close I thought we all might be out this week!  And to think I had picked out the entire season's games.

Edit:

That was one weird weekend of football.

Romo did have a statistically awful game compared to what he is capable of doing.  But I have Kitna at QB, so Romo looks pretty darn good right now if you want a trade.....!

Once a player is placed on the waiver wire, exactly how long until they're available to get?  Is it 48 hours?

Acaeum Collectors League.
Question for anyone who knows the answer.

This is my first experience with Scoring Kick Returners.
So, at least In my case, it is Partly my fault for not knowing who many of them were.
But, while studying up for the draft, I did not realise that ONLY offensive players could be selected as KRs for the rosters.
So, I did not JUST look at offensive KRs.
I looked at the best KRs in the NFL, and seriously, most of them are not also desigated by the NFL teams as offensive players.

During the draft I looked to draft actual Kick Returners and could not find any to draft from the list, which is why I kept loosing time in the later rounds and having to make hasty picks near the end....

We get individual kick return yardage points for players on our rosters.
However, we are not allowed to pick up any players that do return kicks UNLESS they are ALSO offensive players?
IE. Only RBs/WRs are allowed to be picked up and started at W/T, or RB, or WR..........

No defensive players and no Specialists at all, such as Corner backs, not even Kick return specialists.... whose official NFL designation is only as a special teams player.

Only WRs and RBs.......
That system excludes about 70% of the best Kick Returners in the NFL........

So... Why bother with that scoring method at all, if we are not allowed to pick up the best at that position?

The entire field of truly good, or great KRs is at best perhaps 12-15 players in the NFL, with the rest of them either sharing, or are simply not as good as those others.

Half of those 12-15 are NOT also designated by thier NFL teams as offensive players.
So they are not available to us in the Acaeum Collectors League.

Its like not being allowed to pick up Westbrook as a RB because he also catches passes.

Signed:
Frustrated looser......

Well, the Ladies of Pain have left the Survivor Football Island in good company.  Thought we might all get kicked off for a while there yesterday.  Congrats to the Dragons and SH60B, who remain to duke it out.  I'm not bitter, Dallas.  Really.

I'm not bitter either...  Any week that the Broncos lose is a good week!
