And reposting my reply:

$18 retail (plus $12 shipping?!), so it's a great deal at one-sixth off!
(unless you know that Industry Standard for Wholesale is 40-60% off...)
Extra BONUS: comes complete with built-in errors! Badly planned & poorly written... Quotes from their own web site:
"In a 4-player game the number of "1 coin" tokens can get pretty tight..." "...you may only be left with 4 to play with..." "You can also write to us and we can see about getting you some extra tokens."
"The rulebook refers to a 'Master Tray'. This would be a bin where you would store all the game tokens. It does not exist at this time."
(Or it's that BIN on eBay, praps.)
"Welcome to our new section dedicated to fleshing out the vivid world of Thieve's Guild."
(Unfortunately, nowhere in the game can I locate a Thieve...)
As Bugs would say: "What a maroon..." |

So, who's going to buy it and tell us what they get? |

The seller actually has seven of those "D&D" auctions up right now. They look like placeholders to me; real details will probably be added later.
I'm not sure why some sellers do this — the strategy really eludes me. But you do see this sort of thing every so often. |

Well, he does accept personal cheque, and I am in the right country...
Anyone care to guess at what we're looking at here (in case he does update the item)? I'm going to guess that it's probably a hardback of some sort as, last time I had to check, most of the soft-covers can be shipped within country for less than the $7 he's asking for.
Then again, he could just be gouging on the shipping. |

I've done it before when I wanted to get as many listings as possible on 10 cent listing day....but even then I had a general idea what I was selling, I would at least write teh name of the item and come back later to list the details.

well, the seller is a member of this community (he actually doesnt pop up often...): what is funny in that auction is the last part of the description
basically he writes a spoiler: "GLANTRI SARA' DISTRUTTA E ALFHEIM INVASA DAGLI ELFI SCURI!!!" and the translation is Glantri will be destroyed and Alfheim will be invaded by Dark Elves!!!
...i have never known that drows were a race of Mystara! |

Yesterday was 5 cent listing day on eBay Canada (don't know about any of the other eBay sub-sites), so that could explain it. |

My Italian's pretty rusty - might he have meant Shadow Elves. Or would they be elfi umbri? |

Looking at the picture, I'm going to assume that saying "binding in GOD condition" means that to actually have the binding hold together would "take an act of". |

What is the difference between Encyclopedia Magica (vol. 1-4) and the earlier paperback version that was only two volumes (the one which had a listing of all TSR products in Volume 2)? |
