I signed up, got in there, and didn't know what to do.
Finally got booted out, though the funny thing is, I was only in there standing around like a dumb-ass for about a minute or so. The thing said I was booted out for 60 minutes of inactivity. Maybe it's pro-rating my future inactivity.
Anyway, very cool, deimos! |

Actually if you read the login page it says ...

Therefore after 60 minutes you should have been deleted |

Yeah, I noticed that, but was only there for, like, 60 seconds... |

This is likely due to a popup blocker. The chat unfortunately uses popups for various features. For best results, allow popups from all of deimos3428.acaeum.com. |

Good work, Lemur-Dude! |
Well, I think it's officially a successful endeavour. We've got 20 registered members so far, about 50% of which visited more than once in the last four days. While that may not seem like much, it's a steady "base". Most of the time during the day, somebody is on.
I'm just starting to get some useful statistics back, and the website as a whole has recorded 95000+ hits so far this month! For comparison, that's 88000 more hits than the site got when my frenzied relatives wanted photos of the baby last year. Hopefully more of you will drop by for a look. |

Hi Deimos,
Just a quick observation.
With the Firefox browser the quick link drop down in the lower left corner seems to be consistently cut off.
I have tested with IE 7 which does not have that problem.
Here is a link to a screen shot so you can see what I mean.
Screen shot
Of course the most obvious solution is to use IE instead of Firefox but my preferred browser is Mozilla.
Anybody else notice this "minor issue".
(not a criticism, just an observation) |

I check in a lot during the day, but in the evening is when it gets hopping. We should have a regular chat day like the old Greytalk guys had on the old mailing list.....maybe Friday nights (Hey I'm married, nothing go on for me....).
Thanks to KingofPain for holding my hand last night on the chat...my computer got fried and I'm anxiously awaiting the news to see if my hardrive is ok (using my laptop in the meantime).

Well, I'm not in charge of scheduling.
If anyone wants to setup one or more specific, on-going meeting times/events, I think that's a fantastic idea. I'm really taking a "hands-off" approach to the chat, so if there's something you'd like to see, do let me know.

Hrm, that's an interesting one. The easy fix is actually "the Quick Menu isn't really very useful, no matter which browser you're using."
I'll see what I can do to resize the window. |

For anybody that might be wondering...
I just did a test with logging in to the chat server with a Dell Axim using Windows Mobile 2003 second edition.
Not recommended. I could log on and even resize some of the sections to try to make them more visible but in the end the resolution was too low on the handheld to be usable.
Some of the newer versions with full 640x480 might be feasible. |

Deimos and I were talking yesterday, and we are going to try and set up a scheduled weekly chat for Acaeum members. Discussion can be on anything, from new prices/auctions/events in the collectible world to more mundane matters (best micro brewery close to home?).
Hopefully a scheduled chat will bring in some new users, and solve the problem of being on the chat and no one else there to talk with....something that seems to be happening a lot lately.
Anyway, we will try it tonight as we test various nights to see which is the best for the most amount of people. So tonight (Friday June 1st) if you can log on from 10 pm to midnight (or 1 am if you are feeling frisky that late) there will be someone there...well, me at least, but hopefully a few more. Come join us!!!

I'm around. Hopefully this time works for others as well.

Umm...I hadn't really envisioned it as that kinda of chat.
Really, whatever you guys want to discuss is ok. But try to keep the lewdness out of the Main Lobby. |

Fell asleep..guess 30+ hours awake wasn't good.
Anyone use the Gaming Table room yet? Wouldn't mind spending a few hours playing some classic adventure once a week or so.

We had 6-8 last night, I think six was the most at any one time. Went from 10 pm to midnight central time, was a blast. Definitely this activitiy will go on the regular schedule!!!
If I had the time I'd try to set up a basic gaming activity in the room just to try it out...alas I don't have the time. Someone should give it a shot.
