So is it me, or are Fighting Wheel prices dropping?  The last two I saw sold for ~$50 US, which seems down quite a bit from a little while ago.

Anyone else keeping an eye out on these things?

I just bought one: paid about $46 for it, not got it yet, but condition seems fine from photo.  However, I didn't notice until after he charged $18 domestic s&h!  Shocked
Bclarkie sold one for a bit more, but the one before went for around $145 from Sweden.

I'm actually surprised they go for that much. I guess it comes down to what drives collector value for some people. In terms of aesthetics and nostalgia, the fighting wheel seems pretty undesirable. But of course, there's a bunch of people who love rare things just because they are rare.

I sold one last summer with a starting bid of $50 and that's all it went for.  I think the price has been depressed for a while.  It's not a very interesting item intrinsically.

i would prb have one if there was one going quite cheap, just to have it, but as an item itself, it doesnt interest me even remotely.

I got one from Brian yesterday, paid $60.00 for it Very Happy

I left this one until just about last because it really is a lame product.  Still quite rare and collectable though.

Maybe everyone who's really got to have one of those U.K. Fighting Wheels has already got one, leaving those of us who only semi want one and are only willing to bid so high for it???

(besides, the Tracy Hickman "Combat Computer" Fighting Wheel from Dragon #74 is vastly superior as an in-game combat solution...  IMHO of course!)

I think it serves a very limited purpose, and that is to those completing a collection. I have no use for a fighting wheel, as I think the idea is rather dull... but, maybe I'd get one if I could find it for not so terribly expensive. Simply because something is rare doesn't mean its worth anything. Smile

Fighting talk Laughing
Seriously though an excellent point , sometimes we are blinded by an items rarity, ignoring the actual quality of the product (Might explain why so many ST1's remain in the shrink from what I've heard). - the fighting wheel is definitely for completists only, I would put it just behind LJN figures in terms of use at the gaming table Very Happy

Love the errata: "Rangers do not do extra damage against Giants, but only against giant-class creatures." Whew, glad they caught that one, it would have broken the game for sure!
