Hiya guys!
I'm seriously considering putting up Kobold Hall, Beastmaker, Blasted, Fez1 and Nanorien. I think it's time someone else got the chance to own them. I am wondering, however, if I should offer them up as a lot or individually. Money is not the concern; I'm not a profiteer, and I'm sure they will go to someone who will appreciate them. Any input is appreciated. |

Frank,
Right away I thought "seperately" but after thinking about it for a sec, and knowing your not out to "make a mortgage payment" off the load I think as a set might be better . It should still go for a decent amount and it would let someone get them all in one chunk ( without 'tuting out their wife to cover the credit card bill ). I personally don't need them but there are a few here that probably would like to get the set.
I guess the only "drawback" ( aside from a lower overall return ) is that a re-seller could get the lot, split em, and make a decent profit ( not a knock to resellers, just pointing out a "what if" ).
BTW if you don't like that Journey to the Cloud Castle I'm interested ( knew I should have bid higher ) |

I'd say separately. Probably more people looking to fill holes than land a whole series.
By the way, will this include some of the incredibly rare odd-color printings? |

I'd probably say separately as well. I think there are lots of us here that just need one or two to complete their set and others that may want to get in on the not so hard to find ones. |

i'd go separately for the first 3 of them... then if you want you can offer the remaining two as a lot... |

Well, I believe Fez and Nanorien are "alternate colors". The rest are the usual. |

I don't have any. So, gentlemen, if you were in my position and you were intrigued by these - which would you go for first?
Oh, also, are these available in 'cheap' versions without the plain colour covers? And if so - is there much difference between them other than the covers? |

As far as I know, these are only available in the one form. Nan and Fez are probably the two cheap ones and the other 3 are usually $100+. Kobold Hall is the rarest, then Blasted Land and Beastmaker. |

The booklets themselves are always identical regardless of the cover color.
Kobold Hall is stupidly rare; I've seen 2 for sale in all my years, and IIRC the other one I saw was thrashed.
I'll sell them separately. The more I think about it, the more it makes sense to allow people the opportunity to fill holes if necessary. And selling them separately doesn't preclude someone from winning ALL the auctions, right? In fact, here's what I think I will do: if the same person wins all 5 auctions, I'll knock 5% off the total price and ship them for free. Or something similar. |

Thanks for the info.
Are some of these really good adventures, or are they interesting mainly because they are rare? |

Kobold and Fez suck as adventures (in fact, I gave my Fez to Al, if I remember correctly).
Blasted Land and Beastmaker are a lot of fun, though. Blasted is a hell of a tough adventure.
Never owned Nanorien, but I will soon. |

I may have to break these out and read them, though I think I've read Beastmaker..hmm..
Just curious Frank, what numbers are your Kobold Hall and Blasted Lands?

Kobold is 184, Blasted is 383. I believe the Nanorien is green and the Fez is brown. |

I'll try to get them up tomorrow.
Kobold is modeled after Cobo Hall. I believe there is actually a part of the map identical to it. With these auctions, I'll be a lot more descriptive as to content than my usual. |

I don't have Blasted Lands yet, but of the others, BeastMaker Mountain is my favorite, hands-down. It was followed up with a sequel, Tower of Magicks, and also had an article in Dragon on Orlowe in TD # 30, entitled "Orlow's Inventions Can Liven Up Your Life."
I may have a spare or two among these, too, IIRC.... |

Beastmaker is rare? Geez ... I think I paid less than $5 on eBay for the copy I have ... |

...odd: my nanorien is blue and my fez is green...
...how many colour are there? and, moreover, are the colour meaningful or have they randomly used?!?! |

There are at least two colors for Fez and Nanorien. There was a Blasted Lands (or was it beastie) with a yellow cover a short while back.
The green Fez and blue Nano are the standard colors. |
