As far as I know, I don't think Wayne is here. But your statement about price research on Amazon and ABE scares me. Usually I think of these places as mostly being severly overpriced compared with the Ebay market value. |
I do look at Ebay as well. I do not think I have ever bought anything off Amazon, but I've got some good deals off ABEBOOKS. You just have to be lucky and get items just as they're listed. One book, which I had never seen on ebay under $40, I got a VF copy off ABE for $9.99! The great thing about ABE is there is such a range of prices. Sellers have the same book listed from $5 to $100. Look up the TSR Master Catalog from the Silver Anniversary - there are currently 11 items (identical) ranging from $1.20 to $25. Good luck to the $25 Seller! I've seen that go on Ebay for $15, but could get it for $1.20 without having to bid.
Amazon is interesting though. I agree it is over-priced, but gives an indication of the upper limit of prices. They do quite a lot of second hand business, and it seems that many Sellers set their prices (on ebay as well) based on what they see there. I think a lot of the Ebay stores are over-priced as well.
That being all said and done. For the RQ lot, I bid basically $15 per item, which was optimistic. Half of them were worth about that, but the other half were worth more in ebay terms. However, Wayne's books will need to pay about $50 shipping. He'll be paying about $20 per item so he may still make a re-selling profit, but not much. |

BTW Has there been much discussion of RuneQuest here? The market seems to be taking off. There is always intense bidding on any items listed in Australia. |

I don't know much about the item itself but the price is a bit high. I think Noble Knight has one for less. |
