Praytell, what is a pog? Even looking at a few of them in the 'pog' store I can't figure out their purpose.

My local slang growing up, used the word 'pog' to describe a slovenly person. pig

A game were you stack them and hit them with the "slammer" you get to keep the ones that are turned over... or a least thats what I understand the game...

(I know I have used "pog" usually someone who is half pig and half dog.. like a mog, half man half dog, he is his own best friend)

Hi,

picked up some small foil pictures from Ebay (item 290186158136).

5 of them are TSR pics. I was expecting them to be the greetings cards but all framed up, but they are slightly bigger than that.

When they arrived, one of the pics had a broken frame, so I took it to pieces Smile

Its a dufex foil, but licenced by TSR, from "Forgotten Realms", so its an official piece. It mas made in the UK.

Not seen these mentioned before.

On a separate note, I was talking to one of the ex-RPGA organisers a few months back, and he mentioned that the regional directors were given large foil posters (he has a set of 6 different) at some time in the distant past. Anyone know if these were also given out as incentives in the USA?

Cheers,
Malc

The original pogs were caps to juice (passion - orange - guava) that I think were decorated on one side.  My brother lived in Hawaii and they were popular there.

Pinball game, Pinball... are you joking?

If you didn't have that :...

... you are not a serious collector.

There was one some weeks ago, but no Degassy at all.

There should be a dungeon written based upon the layout of this game. The location of the little buzzer thingies are where the treasure will go.

"A game based on the popular pastime of role playing games which during the 80's were still played with graph paper and multi sided dice."

They did? Paper, dice- as late as the 80s? What..savages. Good thing the situation has been rectified in the modern age.

In the big stack of Model Retailer magazines I bought I found a lot of interesting photos - the most intriguing is the one with Gary Gygax, Marvel Productions president, CBS vice president of Children programming and... all the D&D Cartoon Characters  Shocked. I saw the TSR Booth at the HIA Trade Show in 1980 (small photo, but interesting).

Dang!  I've got one of those D&D maze beach towels.  I never thought anything about it until I read this thread.  Unfortunately, it is not in the best condition.  I can grade comics but not towels.  My guess is very good condition. Anybody think it would actually sell? Question

Hmm... there is, indeed. I should just peruse all the magazines, find the image, scan it and post here. By the way, how do you post images here?
