Never seen it before. Looks really interesting. Anyone have a copy?
It might have some interesting insights on 1st Ed. D&D and other games and why earlier collector prices were set.
I wonder what price they set for Deities & Demigods 1st/2nd print.
Cheers,

Without looking on Noble Knight Games, he has had 2 different copies from successive years on there. He happens to refer to them as 'rare' but at the $25+ asking price I think he has had them for some time.
It really seems to be one of the earliest attempts to gather information on RPG's as collectables. Mentzer's involvement could attribute many of the estimated values within the guides to convention auction prices as he was and is deeply involved with con auctions.
Later.

I've got one of these and I must say it's fairly uninteresting. It's pretty much just a listing of auction prices - no details, nothing rare, nothing exciting. In fact, if memory serves, it's about 80% board games. And not even good board games at that. I'd be inclined to agree with the assessment that it's fairly rare, but there's little substance there to make it valuable to collectors. |
