I picked up one of these copies of I4 with board recently.  http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=2545&item=31203 71309&rd=1  The board is identical to the one used for L2 -Assassin's Knot. It is glued to the upper-back of the module rather than stapled.  ?It appears from the picture in the  acaeum that the board on L2 might be glued as well.?  I'm glad another of these items was pointed out. At first I wasn't sure of it's authenticity because even though it was from the proper item period it would be very easy to take one of those boards and glue it to the back of any shrink-wrapped module.   Interesting how TSR would special package two modules which clearly state that they are the second of a series.   My theory is that they had this idea to package product to sell in regular retails stores. They looked at what product they had extra inventory of at the time (L2, I4, B2) and made the necessary modifications. Probably starting with B2, then getting complaint's about the staples and switching to glue for L2 and I4. <Theory only>  Cheers, Curt CGOULD42

I happen to have a copy of L2 in shrink, but my peg board had been removed. The peg board was originaly attached by glue and not staples. I also have two B2 modules, one with the peg board still attached with staples and the other is like the L2 above. I would have to agree that they stopped the practice of ruining there products by starting to glue them on and not attach them with staples.

The Acaeum also has listed a print version of "X5 Temple of Death" with a cardboard header, so I guess that makes six (along with Mkman's information)  B2 L2 X5 I4 EX2 S3  with B2 being the only one with a stapled header, the rest being glued (maybe)  Hopefully information about the last three will be added to the Acaeum at some point (not to bug Scott - we all know how busy he is).

The EX2 was stapled. If I recall, the S3 was also stapled. Scott has the picture I sent him of the S3 so he could check when he has time I guess.

OK, so taking the information from the string we have the following:  B2 ("Basic" Red Board) -  Staple / Glue L2 (Advanced" Tan Board) - Staple <As listed in the Acaeum> / Glue X5 - ? I4 ("Advanced" Tan Board) - Glue EX2 - Staple S3 - Staple?  Can anyone else who owns these modules with a header board confirm or add to the information above?  Obssessed minds coming together. You've gotta love this forum   Very Happy   Cheers, Curt

Hello all,  I have 2 copies of L2 and B2 with the headers. Both B2's are stapled, with the basic header. Both L2's are glued with the advanced header. The seller I received the last ones from stated that he originally bought  modules B2, X3, X5,L2, and I4 with headers on them all. Unfortunately he did not have any of the X or I modules left  Crying or Very sad   The only ones I have personally seen are the B2, X5, L2, and I4.  Hope this info helps.

I have B2 with the basic header glued and stapled on.  From the same seller I purchased X5 Temple of Death, U1 Sinister Secret of the Saltmarsh and SF2 Star Frontiers "Starspawn of Volturnus". All of these items had the headers removed although they remain in SW. The headers are gone so I cannot confirm which headers they were but I am completely positive they are the same TSR headers by the glue residue on the SW. At the time I was pretty annoyed  Mad  when they showed up in the mail and they were not in Mint condition.  I also have A1 Slave Pits of the Undercity with a simple plastic hook glued to the back but I am not sure this is a TSR or retailer addition.  I think the good Folks at TSR might have just slapped these gluebacks on shipments randomly beyond the usual suspect Modules. But as others come forward with their backboarded copies we will get a clearer idea.  Very Happy   Later. Adam

adam, one thing that I have encountered rather frequently is that modules that were sold by Toys R Us were commonly hung from peg board with those metal rod hangers and the modules had plastic hangers attached to them by Toys R Us to facilitate this. I even remember buying a few like this from Toys R Us back in the early 80's.  PD
