Here's something kind of cool I just picked up:  [picture]  On the title page it states: Welcome to Ravens Bluff The Living City, Visitor Guide, Gen Con Game Fair 1994.  The really neat part is that it's a numbered edition of 250.  It's basically 132 spiral-bound (plus 10 loose pages) booklet... content seems mostly bland stuff.  74 of the pages are just listings of Living City PCs, 21 pages of NPCs, a magic item price list and forms, forms, forms.  The only real section of noticable interest, to some, would be a complete listing of Living City tournament modules, including where (if) they have been published, what Con they premiered at and when.  Covers everything from 1987-1995.  That should give you tournament mod hunters 68 new things to look for...  Wink

Yes, after years at last a copy of the Basic Set published by Garden City Press, the 'paperback book' version, is mine at last for the sum of £ 11.50 plus shipping. I bought it on EBay UK yesterday. It seems quite worn out but an item complete and intact is fine for me...

I dropped my wife off at the SJC airport today for her 10 day visit to friends in CO and MN, and popped by some game stores on the way home.  Made some nice buys:

  • MM, PHB, FF, all bright, useful for play copies for $6 each

  • AH "The General" Vol 17 #1 (May-June 1980) for $2.50 (it has a pre-reg booklet for Origins 1980 in it, which was the first convention I attended)

  • Dungeon magazines 9, 10, 11, 15 (all NM) for $5 each

  • Arduin 1, 2, and 3 in G/VG condition got $4 each; this version of Arduin 1 has a white cover vs. the tan, OD&D-like covers; anyone know about Arduin's printing history?  I bought these mostly for the Erol Otus artwork :D

EDIT:  Doh!  I just realized that the book probably doesn't have a cover; never mind....

Hasta!

Picked up a couple obscure items:

Realms of Myth Player's Guide. 2 copies, one signed and numbered the other with author's notes of corrections to be made in the next printing which are reflected in the signed & #ed edition.  A stand alone FRP. Stormhawk Publications 1990.

Not an FRP but if anyone knows of someone who may be interested in this, get them in touch with me.

Officers Manual of the Karizan Empire, Red Giant Publications 1987 (second printing March 1988).  Looks like a supplement for a knock-off of the Star Trek RPG.  The book does not use the words Star Trek, but the images sure do look like Klingons.

Nice job Frank.

I need some help. It seems as though the printer made some kind of error in mine and I can't read the number of Hit Points the Black Dragon has on page 61. Can you let me know?

Later.

Not that Pharaoh. I was hoping though........

When he listed it as unnumbered, it was because it had no outside cover with the I3. I'll use it as a play module.

Picked up a 10th Anniversary Collector's Set last week.  :-)

Mint condition.

Even had the 2 MSolo pens and the Dice crayon.

A little bit of shelfwear on the Basics rules where it rubbed against the case is the only negative.

Spawn of Sable, Pages of Doom, Light Fantastic, Hand of Justice, Farewell to the Flesh, Deepening Shadows, Legacy of Venom, Beast Within, Heart's Final Beat, Mission Brief, and Smoke and Mirrors; all Adventurer's Guild modules, and from DmDave, Mike Kuo, and Matrix Games.  I only need about 20 more and about 5 instruction books and I'll have a complete set.

Also snagged a ton of stuff today at a local hobby store of mine...  somebody is apparently buying up ALL of the guy's RPG stuff, but stupidly didn't place a hold on what is there now, so the owner slashed prices to 50% off.  Meaning I got a bunch of new 3rd edition hardbacks for only about $10-15 each, and even a few 2nd edition modules, shrinkwrapped, for about $2-5 each.  Shame 99% of what the guy has left now is White Wolf, weird random games, and beat up Shadowrun books.  Also a shame I just paid a ton of bills, and my bank account can't stand me dropping a few hundred to get just about every Vampire and Mage book out there (been meaning to start collecting them, but since the price of White Wolf stuff dropped through the floor, I've been thinking of buying somebody's collection and saving myself a bundle/headache).

OK, I know this is totally uncouth, but enquiring minds want to know.

Burnt, how much did you spend at the GenCon auctions?

About $1,600. I also bought alot of other items that I did not list(modules in shrink, a crap load of TSR miniatures still in cases, polyhedrons, etc, etc). Alot of great deals, every item that I bought went for less than the Acaeum prices(usually far less). Smile

Dammit, why can't they bring GenCon to Washington DC or New York, someplace I could actually drive to without killing myself...   all the more reason I need to try to go next year.

Hey Burntwire, can you throw some scans of those tournement mods up?  I've been interested in finding some of those for years, but have had no luck (aside for the AG mods of course).
