Some features of these forums which are not standard in the phpBB software, and which may not otherwise be completely obvious to you:
* Only registered users are visible online
* You can search for term(s) within an individual topic (search box is at the bottom of your screen when you're viewing a topic)
* You can search topic titles only (along with message text only, or topic title & message text) from the Search screen (added 2/4/05)
* Multiple spaces in a row are allowed in a post (added 2/4/05)
* "Last Visited" date is viewable for all users
* Forum posts are archived (and searchable) through various search engines, such as Google
* Word wrapping is automatic (for instance, a long URL will not stretch the screen)
* "Watched Topics" list, at the top of your screen. All topics you have set to "watch" (i.e., the board will e-mail you when a reply is posted to that topic) will be listed here (added 5/1/05)
* Text of private messages is included in the PM notification e-mail you are sent
* Uploading of avatars is (and has been) disabled, due to security concerns. You can still freely link to an off-site avatar. However, to speed up the operation of the forums, we will now host your avatars. Simply attach the avatar to an e-mail message (along with your forum username) and send to webmaster@acaeum.com. We will install your avatar for you. Please remember to keep the avatar size to under 125 pixels wide, or we'll have to scale it down (added 2/4/05)
* Styles manager, with six different styles to choose from -- accessible via your Profile
fisubsilver: the "standard" blue-on-tan Acaeum theme
Origfisubsilver: the way it used to be, with "views" and "replies" shifted out to the right-hand side. No other difference from the above
subTrail: a green-on-tan version of the standard Acaeum theme
OrigsubTrail: the way it used to be, with "views" and "replies" shifted out to the right-hand side. No other difference from the above
Chronicles: a completely-redesigned, medieval style theme. This one's quite something
OrigChronicles: the way it used to be, with "views" and "replies" shifted out to the right-hand side. No other difference from the above
* The author of a post does not count towards post views
* Announcement and Sticky topics are now separated from normal topics by a divider (added 5/4/05)
* Announcements are now reflected on the main index (added 5/4/05)
* If a PM notification popup is blocked (due to browser settings), the forum will attempt to notify you via a small floating table instead (added 7/9/05)
* Total number of registered users who've visited in the last 24 hours is now displayed on the main forum index (added 7/9/05)
* Icon for new private messages now blinks (fisubsilver and subTrail themes only) (added 7/10/05)
* 3-D Graphical "percent full" box on Private Message screen (added 1/5/06)
* Text of a private message is now visible when you reply to it (added 10/22/05)
* Search results do not include quoted text, giving you a better post preview (added 10/22/05)
* Hovering your mouse over a topic title now displays a preview box of the first message in that thread (added 1/5/06)
* Memberlist can now be sorted by first letter of a user's name (added 1/5/06)
* More than one exclamation point or question mark in a topic title is automatically deleted (added 1/5/06)
* Google will no longer increase your thread "views" count (sorry) (added 1/5/06)
* Style change to the topic list - replies and views are moved underneath the topic title (added 1/5/06)
* Memberlist and Usergroups are now viewable only by registered users (added 2/10/06)
* Activation e-mail can be resent if you don't get the first one (added 6/20/06)
* Quoting a message will not pull any nested quotes, just the most recent poster's message (added 7/1/06)
* Username block on private message composition screen is now a dropdown list (added 10/7/06)
* The redirect after posting a message, private message, or opinion poll has been removed (added 2/19/07) We continually strive to add functionality and security measures to these forums. Unfortunately, some of the more popular phpBB modifications will not be added, if either security or ease-of-use is compromised. |

To answer an often-asked question: I am not able to see your account password. If I access your account, all I see in the password block is a blank line.
Therefore, I can change your password, but I can not see what password you have currently. If you've forgotten your password, e-mail me, and I will change it after confirming your identity.

Watched topics are back! You can watch a topic in a number of ways:
* Via your profile, you can set "Notify on Replies" so that every topic you've posted to will generate an e-mail when that topic is replied to. Note: this can cause you to get a lot of e-mails, especially if you're a prolific poster. I recommend leaving this set to "No".
* Via a text link just above and below a topic, when you're reading that topic: "Watch this topic for replies".
* Via a checkbox at the bottom of a post you're writing: "Notify me of replies". Additionally, we've added a "Watched Topics" list, accessible at the top of your screen. All of your watched topics will be listed here.
Enjoy! And if anyone encounters any problems with this function, please let me know. It was quite an involved process in implementing this feature, so I may have screwed something up somewhere.

To speed up the forum some, I copied all the avatars I could find (I found about thirty of you; I'm sure I missed some) onto the Acaeum server. Since the avatars I copied will now load from here, it should speed pages up dramatically, especially those pages with lots of avatars.
If you wish to change your avatar, you can do it just like you did before, via the Profile control panel at the top of the screen. However, for speed's sake, please e-mail me your avatar instead, at webmaster@acaeum.com . I'll install it here for you.
During the coversion, I scaled a few of your avatars down a bit. Please ensure your avatar is no more than 125 pixels wide, as otherwise, it distorts the forum format. Also, if you are using an animated .GIF, please keep it to under 50k or so.
