ral partha 11 series miniatures

Does anyone have the checklist for the #800's and #900's? I believe these are all battlesystem mini's. I don't have an old ral partha catalog...and they aren't listed at stuff of legends. Mucho appreciated if someone could fill me in.

Also, does anyone know what the difference is in the two versions of the Displacer Beast?

Are those 15mm or 25mm? That's one of the tricky things about Battlesystem minis.
I'm also curious what the difference is between the two displacer beasts as I have one that's sitting... so the other one is pouncing?

Bilidum is 10-561.
(BTW Harcourts knights are way heavy so bad for postage!)

The 9xx series are 15mm the boxes are 25mm.

11-850 to 864 are 25 mm according to my '96 catalog. There`s also 4 pages with 9xx minis in that catalogue btw so might wat to get that one from ebay..

Thanks guys for the responses. My displacer beast is on all 4's ready to strike, so I guess Dathon has solved the mystery if he has one that is sitting. I thought it might be like the owlbear, one standing and one on all 4's.

They redid that one because the one you have only four legs. Displacer beasts are supposed to have six legs!

Stormber nailed the Displacer Beast mystery sculpts.
How about the owlbear? Is it because they're bipedal and one sculpt has the beast on all fours?

I have both versions of the owlbears.... I guess the initial one was the "standing" version which was then replaced with the corrected all 4's mini.

Question: One of my favorite humanoid sculpts from the 11 series are the Orogs... but what are their origins in the D&D world? Was this "monster" a dragon magazine insertion? a module addition? Confused

Well, if the 900 series are all 15mm then they can crossed off the "to buy" list. Is it possible for someone with an RP catalog handy to jot down the names of the 25 mm 800 series from 11-850 to 864? I just picked up the Gnoll Lord Flind, 861, and would appreciate knowing the other names for a checklist. Thanks!

Orogs were 2nd edition's answer to Uruk-hai (sp?), the big orcs from Lord of the Rings. The description in the Monstrous Manual is thinly veiled in the attempt to copy these critters.

Maybe it's late and I'm being paranoid, but I've noticed that on ebay the same five to ten 11-series figures (loose) come up for sale about every two weeks. They seem to have a different "sheen" than the ones I have. I've also noticed that some sellers for years (not you Frank) have the SAME blisters for sale....week after week, month after month Question

Did this lucky seller stumble across some old hobby shops with cases of the same mini?

Would someone actually try and counterfeit these? Any one else think that some of these may still be in "production"?

Well i did sell the same blisters week after week a while ago, after i bought up the backstock of a local game shop. One guy even once bought 20 blisters each of derro and nightshades from me for building an army.

I sold lots of the leftovers to robsfigs, who must have a huge mass of minis. He`s been (re)selling them steadily for a long time.

I don`t know about loose minis and recasting, though i doubt that would be possible or at least not very easy.

Yes, I was referring to Rob with my comment. I have purchased many things from him in the past, but I always wondered how many high bulp & bupu, nightshades etc....can this guy have. Week after week the same 15 or 20 blisters....just got me thinking one night.

I don't know if anyone else is following the sunday's 11 series sale, but bidding wars are skyrocketing prices.

11-647 for $80.50 Shocked

...with hours left on the auction?...makes the lord soth bidding war that took place a few weeks ago look cheap in comparison.
11-648 pit fiend up to $60.00 with a couple of hours left. This one is actually pretty cool, so this isn't that bad, but still a little high (imho)....good thing I've got a couple.

The high bidder is Fisher5676... a regular of the 11 series auctions over the years, but lately I've noticed he is paying INSANE (imho) prices for not-so-rare mini's.

Does anyone know if he is a member of the forum?
